When life hands you lemons... don't forget to try and make lemonade!

well loyal followers... it is already Friday, July 2, i have an assignment due in about 80 minutes and keep loosing connectivity... thanks wonderful hurricane alex for all that glorious moisture... lol... and they tell me this is my welcome to houston... haha!

ok, ok... i get it and am lovin' every minute of this new adventure... a nightmare moving experience... you know... murphy's law??? everything that could go wrong has gone wrong... two-hundred-fold... but we are finally moved in... lots of boxes to unpack and lots of room to put things away into without being cramped... an extremely tempting pool that keeps calling my name (good thing it has been storming all day with torrential rains or i would be out there swimming and getting nothing else done)... internet that works 1 minute and disconnects the next... fun assignments that if my brain can stay focused long enough without shutting down, might get done on time... oh yes... and did i mention... old neighbors from our old neighborhood keep stealing everything from our house that we left behind just because they thought we left it up for grabs to the first person "brave" enough to take it... ahhhhhh- isn't life grand? well... back to homework and thanks for being my followers...

until next time... ttyl gators :-)

  1. Hey Kathy,

I hope you can settled in the next few days. It sounds like things are rough on you right now. Keep your chin up. Find some time to relax and put in a DVd or read a chapter of a book. I saw that you like medical mysteries----are you a Patricia Cornwell fan?

  2. Thanks Elizabeth! Words of encouragement are so welcomed and appreciated. Yes- I love Cornwell- think I will take your advice and take some me "time-out"!

  3. Kathy,

I hope this 4th of July finds you refreshed and relaxed. I too love Robin Cook novels and am a Cornwell fan ( it helps greatly that my husband is finishing his Dr of Pharmacy- I can ask him all sorts of questions). I have some other books in my bookshelf that I will share with you. Your pool looks very inviting, is the weather holding up for you? . Tell me about the jewelry you design? I am a girl who loves interesting and unique pieces- I pick up a lot from garage sales and thrift stores.

  4. Thanks for your comments and well wishes! As for the jewelry we design, many of the pieces are reminiscent of vintage pieces or the ideas come from movie and stage sets. We started out with just beads, and then progressed to incorporating a variety of fabricated wire sculpting, and as soon as I get settled, am going to add metal clay pieces with some simple castings and miniature ceramic and porcelain accents. I love coming up with customized or unique, one-of-a-kind pieces so am always designing something new. Often, my clients come to me with ideas they want us to make into accessories and accent pieces so it isn't unusual to find ur designing on a whim. As soon as I make some changes to our website, I will let you know the URL address.
